About the company
Piraeus Bank is Greece's largest bank by total assets, providing retail, corporate, and investment banking services domestically and in Southeast Europe. Established in 1916, it completed a major recapitalisation and balance-sheet clean-up during and after the Greek sovereign-debt crisis, and returned to profitability in subsequent years. The Greek State, through the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund, retains a minority stake.
