PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk is a state-owned coal mining company headquartered in Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra, operating one of Indonesia's largest surface coal mines. The company supplies thermal coal to domestic power plants, particularly on the Sumatra grid, and exports to Asian markets. It is 65% owned by MIND ID (Mining Industry Indonesia), the state mining holding company, and is a major beneficiary of government coal domestic market obligation (DMO) policy.
