Telkom SA is a South African telecommunications group operating through Openserve (fixed-line infrastructure), BCX (information technology and managed services), and Telkom Mobile, which competes in the mobile data and voice market. The South African government holds a significant stake in the company through the Public Investment Corporation and directly through the Department of Communications. Telkom has been undertaking strategic transformation to compete more effectively against larger mobile operators MTN and Vodacom.
