Raízen is a joint venture between Cosan and Shell, operating as one of Brazil's largest energy companies through fuel distribution (Shell-branded service stations), sugar production, and ethanol production including second-generation (cellulosic) ethanol. It is Brazil's largest fuel distributor by volume, with thousands of service stations across the country. Raízen is a leading producer of sugarcane ethanol and is investing heavily in biogas and bioenergy.
