Life Insurance Corporation of India is the country's largest life insurer, with a commanding share of the Indian life insurance market built over decades as a state monopoly before sector liberalisation. It manages one of the largest pools of investment assets in India and invests extensively in government securities and equities. LIC was listed on Indian stock exchanges in May 2022 in the country's largest-ever IPO at the time.
